What is the INEC Killarney?

The INEC, Ireland’s National Events Centre, is part of the wider Gleneagle Hotel complex on the Muckross Road, home to the Gleneagle INEC Arena, one of the largest multi-purpose event venues outside Dublin. Since opening, it has hosted everything from arena tours and stand-up specials to festive pantomimes, making it the main draw for live entertainment in this part of Kerry.

Alongside the headline arena shows, the Gleneagle complex also runs a busy, near-nightly programme of country music, showband and dance nights, which is where a lot of the week-to-week INEC Killarney events activity actually happens. Whichever kind of night you’re booking for, Killarney town, and The Great Southern Killarney with it, is close enough to make a proper evening of it.

Stay minutes from the venue

Turn a night at the INEC into a Killarney weekend

The Great Southern Killarney is one of the closest hotels to the INEC Killarney, right in the heart of the town and only a short drive from the arena door. Book directly for the best available rate, skip the drive home after the encore, and wake up to a full Kerry breakfast instead.

The Deluxe bedroom at The Great Southern Killarney Hotel offers you a place for peace and tranquility during your stay.

Where to eat before the show

Give yourself time for dinner before the doors open. Browne’s Bar, our own bar and restaurant, is a five-minute stroll from your room and serves a relaxed pre-show menu of Kerry classics alongside a proper pint, so you’re not rushing a meal before curtain-up. After the show, it’s just as easy to head back for a nightcap by the fire rather than queuing for a taxi.

Travelling with a group for one of the bigger INEC Killarney events? Our team can arrange multiple rooms, and for larger parties the self-catering Railway Residence gives you exclusive use of a two-to-four-bedroom home just steps from the hotel.

Good to know before you go

  • Book tickets through the official box office. Always buy directly from the venue or a recognised ticket agent, particularly for the bigger INEC Killarney events, which tend to attract resale activity once they sell out.
  • Book your room as soon as you have tickets. Weekend dates around a headline concert or comedy tour are the first to sell out across Killarney’s hotels.
  • Check the doors and start time for each show. Dance and showband nights often start earlier in the evening than concerts and comedy shows, so it’s worth confirming before you plan dinner.
  • Leave time for the short drive over. The Gleneagle INEC Arena is a few minutes from the hotel by car or taxi; on the busiest nights, it’s worth allowing a little extra time.

The INEC Killarney (Gleneagle INEC Arena) runs a year-round programme of concerts, comedy, tribute acts, country and showband nights, and seasonal family shows. See our regularly updated list above for what’s currently confirmed.

The INEC and the Gleneagle INEC Arena are part of the Gleneagle Hotel complex on the Muckross Road, a short drive from Killarney town centre and from The Great Southern Killarney.

The Great Southern Killarney is a 5-star hotel in the town centre, minutes from the INEC, making it an easy base for a concert or show night. See our dedicated guide to hotels near the INEC Killarney.

As soon as the date is announced. Popular concerts and comedy tours can sell out hotel rooms in Killarney within days, especially at weekends.

We’ll publish the 2027 calendar here once it’s confirmed, and update this page sooner if a major new show is announced.
