The reason we picked the venue is because my mother lived in and worked with the great Southern Hotel in her youth, so there is a special place in my familys heart in the Great Southern Hotel. The weddings team are very approachable from start to finish. There was a lot of communication via email which is great as we both work unsociable hours. The standard of the hotel is great and on the day of the wedding everything we had been planning turned out to be perfect. Would highly recommend and many thanks for making our day such a memorable day.

 

We really want to show our appreciation to the wedding team especially Christina, Ryan and Stephen. Christina was our point of contact throughout our wedding planning that we did from Sydney. She was always at the end of an email and even accommodated us with a zoom call and virtual tour of the hotel. Her attention to detail, communication and advice was something that was so comforting while we organised our big day from quite literally the other side of the world! Anything we asked of her was never a problem or an issue. She is so professional, courteous and her attention to detail was second to none. 
We met Ryan at our tasting and on the day of the wedding. His calming presence and kindness made us feel instantly at ease. He was always letting us know what was happening without being intrusive while we with our guests. He was extremely professional and polite and we felt that he cared for us and our guests to an excellent level. Our meal was fantastic, we were really happy with it as a whole and so were our guests. Ryan was so gracious and helpful all day. We couldn’t praise him enough.

Finally we would like to thank Stephen for his calm and amicable presence. He was very subtle on his approach and always available if we needed him. He was also a hero when he found my day 2 outfit that went missing! Another porter returned to our room twice saying he couldn’t find it but once we rang down to reception, Stephen was on the ball and found it immediately. We would also like to thank him for his prompt service when we ordered room service the day after the wedding, it was well needed!! All in all we have so much love for The Great Southern, it will always hold a special place in our hearts as we have some amazing fond memories from there, that we will cherish forever. We can’t wait to return for our anniversary already!

From Start to Finish the Great Southern Hotel Killarney were an absolute pleasure to deal with. The pre wedding meetings were very enjoyable and relaxed and they were really accommodating when it came to any bespoke requests we had for our wedding in terms of room props, food requests, accommodation etc. The menu tasting was particularly enjoyable and exceeded our expectations. In the lead up to the wedding day, the Weddings team were in regular contact to guide us through all finer details that needed to be attended to. They made the entire process absolutely painless.

As for the Wedding Day itself, everything ran like clockwork with Jillian and Stephen outstanding throughout. The staff on hand were all very helpful, the food was amazing and the venue looked incredible. We had a fantastic day and cannot thank the Great Southern Hotel enough for their efforts. 

Everything was fantastic from when we arrived at the hotel until we left on Saturday. We really enjoyed our day and your team where first class at everything they did. We can’t thank ye all enough for all yer help over the last 3 years. And Jillian, thank you so much for everything you did for the day of Wedding, we will be forever grateful to ye for making our day so special.

Thanks to all involved in our wedding day. We couldn’t have dreamed of a better day. Shauna, a superwoman. She tried her best to accommodate anything we asked of. There were a few changes to prices/rules etc since we booked in 2022 and she managed to honour what we’d been told. A true lady in person, and so professional always. Stephen, we met Stephen on our tasting evening and he couldn’t have been more helpful, informative and reassuring. The same and even more applied to our wedding day. He was around checking everything and making sure we didn’t need anything. He even escorted a family member to their room so that the groomsman wouldn’t miss a minute on the dance floor! A pure gent. The staff in general were super, although we missed much of the drinks reception, the comments from guests were great. Lots of guests also couldn’t believe the meal was all done and dusted before 8pm! Service was prompt and efficient. Food, one guest (well-travelled) told us the black pudding parcel was the nicest starter he’s ever tasted. That pretty much sums up the feedback there!
As neither of us are from Killarney, most of our guests had never been to the Great Southern before. If I had a euro for every time someone said ‘Jesus it’s some hotel’ and again on day 2. We are still so chuffed. 

The Great Southern will also be so special to us, and we can’t wait to visit again and into the future hopefully.

I just wanted to thank you and Gillian and all the staff so much for Saturday. We had the best weekend of our lives. I have not one complaint , only that it all went too fast. The food was amazing, the service was fantastic and ye just could not do enough for us. The whole experience was stress free and you gave us so much help along the way. We got married on a sunny Thursday afternoon in May with our reception in the heart of our hometown, Killarney. I'd had my heart set on the Great Southern from the start, as every detail from the front door through to the dinner hall was just stunning, no detail left spared. It was bright, open and airy, the reception room overlooking the gardens with large open doors, our guests felt like they were in the countryside even though we were in the centre of town. Food was second to none: our canapes, drinks reception and dinner menu were fully catered to us (and our picky-er guests!) and they and they are still raving about the dinner a month later. The waiting and bar staff were so pleasant and efficient on the day and accommodated a lively fiddle session well into the night. Most importantly though, the wedding team: in the year up to the big day they were so helpful and accomodating, and true professionals. We were talked through every step of the process from day one, planned a schedule around our work for meetings, and were always on the other end of an email with a swift reply to our nothions and queries. Knowing full well this hotel goes through their fair share of weddings, we still felt special at every turn, from the food and wine tasting nights, to bringing our quirky theme ideas to life, and of course, looking after us on the big day. From our very first meeting with the wedding team, we knew Great Southern was the place for us! Every member of staff was so warm and welcoming. Julie and Christina were so professional and organised, allowing us to relax and thoroughly enjoy the build up to the wedding safe in the knowledge the day would go off without a hitch! 

We wanted to have a big party to celebrate our day and Great Southern delivered, we had the best night of our lives! The food, drink, service and overall atmosphere were second to none, guests were recounting the night for months after!

A special mention to Jillian, who was phenomenal on the day of the wedding! Everything went off without a hitch and especially for kicking the speeches off a little earlier to alleviate the nerves, and the supply of Cointreau and Red Bull!

We really don’t know where to begin in thanking each and every one who helped make our day so amazing. From our first meeting with Christina no question was left unanswered and no request too big we knew from the offset we had found our venue. Great service and good food were our main priorities on the day and my god did all the staff at the Great Southern deliver. We received nothing by the highest of compliments from all our guests on what an amazing day they all had. We began viewing venues for our wedding in early 2022 and the Great Southern was the second hotel we visited but from the moment we got there we knew the search was over. From day one the whole team made us feel so special and no query or request was we had was too much. Organising a wedding can be overwhelming but their expertise and guidance  put us completely at ease at every stage of the planning. 

On our wedding day itself, 27th December 2023 the hotel went above and beyond our expectations and were even prepared for our early arrival to the reception due to the extreme weather conditions. Jillian, Stephen and all the team were impeccable and on hand from the minute we arrived and I can't speak highly enough of them, they were outstanding. We got such great feedback from our guests highly complementing all the staff, how well set up the drinks reception was, the decor of the room and of course the amazing food, with the night time food being a particular highlight. Thank you again so much to everyone at the Great Southern Hotel for making our wedding day extra special. We would 100% recommend any future couples looking for a wedding venue to consider this hotel for their special day. 

We got married on Dec 22nd 2023 in the Great Southern. Our experience with the Great Southern was excellent. Everything on the day went extremely smoothly. Our priority on the day was that all our guests would enjoy excellent food. The Great Southern delivered on this as the food was superb and brought out in a very timely manner. Our guests are still talking about how good it was! Every detail was thought of by the wedding team. On the day, they made both myself and my husband feel very special and looked after every detail for us. We can't thank the wedding team enough for making our day so special. Now that everything is back to normality I wanted to thank Christina, Jillian and all your wonderful staff who helped us along the way with planning our wedding. I was always told it will be the best day of my life and man was it, but that down to all of the team at Great Southern. You made the experience so pleasant and stress free and I couldn't be more grateful, from the minute we decided to have our wedding in the hotel you couldn't be more helpful and always offered your expert guidance. On the day, the hotel looked absolutely spectacular and hand on heart everyone of our guests commented on how helpful all the staff were but genuinely they were amazing, Jillian was incredible she had everything timed to a T and was on the ball with everything. The meal was out of this world,  cannot fault a single thing about it. 

We booked our wedding with the Great Southern Hotel and were originally due to have it in December 2020. Due to Covid-19 we had to push this date out and we rearranged to November 2023. I can genuinely say that from the moment we engaged with the hotel, they have been an absolute pleasure to deal with. They went above and beyond in all aspects and were friendly, professional and we built a great relationship with them ahead of our big day. In the build up to the day, we mainly dealt with Christina. She was easy to deal with. She came with loads of options/suggestions and was very open to anything we wanted for our day. We really trusted and valued her opinion and this helped us enormously in the build up. A few weeks ahead of the day, we meet with Christina for over an hour where she did a full run through of the day from breakfast on the day of the wedding right through to the residents bar that night. We found this run through really helpful in showing us how the day would run so there would be no real surprises or concerns for us on the day. Christina is absolutely excellent and really made us feel comfortable ahead of the wedding.

Stephen managed our menu tasting which was a great experience. He made us feel very relaxed, talked us through each course and again went above and beyond to ensure we had a great experience. The tasting was one of our highlights and this was, in no small part, down to Stephen.

The day itself was so much better than we had imagined. Everything went perfectly. We were treated so well from first thing in the morning until we checked out. We both stayed onsite the night before the wedding and there was a fuss made of us from check in. When we arrived back from the church, Christina and the staff were waiting with umbrellas and champagne. We then got a lovely surprise when the staff of the hotel gave us a round of applause/guard of honour into the hotel. This was a lovely touch. The drinks reception was perfect. Everything looked amazing and all the guests were having a great time when we arrived in.

Jillian was the Operations Manager on the day and she was so helpful and everything ran perfectly. She gave us great advice, was always there if we had a question and the service was exemplary. The room looked really well and the food was superb. So many people commentated on it which we were delighted with. The rest of the night ran perfectly and we had such a good day.

We also booked our Day 2 for Fredericks Bar in the hotel. We had a great night, the food and room were lovely and Stephen was on hand to make sure everything went well.

Genuinely, we could not recommend the Great Southern Hotel enough. Everything was 10/10 and we are so happy we chose to get married there. Thank you to Christina, Stephen, Jillan, Sean the porter and all of the staff for treating us so well. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend the Great Southern to anyone looking for a wedding venue. Myself and Matthew can't thank the team at Great Southern enough for making our day one to remember. We absolutely loved every minute of our Wedding day. The team made the day so easy for us both. From breakfast, getting ready, ceremony and meal everything was perfect.  From Day 1 when booking the wedding we knew we made the right choice, everyone was so lovely to deal with. We had the most magical day that was absolutely perfect from start to finish. From the day we booked our wedding we knew we were in good hands with the team at Greta Southern. Honestly anything we asked was never an issue. Everyone was so accommodating and it was very much appreciated. The co ordination and effort put in was second to none. We know that the hotel is so busy with weddings but with yer attention we felt as though we were the only couple getting married. 

Our wedding day was everything we had imagined and the whole day ran so well, your expertise is brilliant and the team are incredible at what they do. We are still getting people telling what a great wedding it was. Jillian and her team had the room looking so beautiful and we knew we were in safe hands with them. Everything was so relaxed and Jillian kept the nerves at bay and made sure we were okay throughout the evening. She is such a great person who we had a lot of fun with and it made the day.

The food.... oh my god it was amazing!!! Stephen and his team absolutely hit the nail on the head. People genuinly said that it was the best food they had got at a wedding and they werent lying because it really was. Nothing was too much to ask for any of our guests and it didnt go unnoticed. The concierge worked so hard on the day before to get us all organised and we had great fun with him. From Paddy and I, we want to thank you all so much for your hard work and for making our day the most special day for us our families and all of our guests.

It can be quite stressful planning awedding when you’re not around the corner or even in the same country. ButChristina has been absolutely amazing. She is a complete asset to the team at Great Southern. You have such afantastic team. Even with how busy they must be, our weddingstill felt so personal and special. How they roll out each wedding, add all therequested personalisations and deliver that on a daily basis is beyondimpressive.

As always with the Great Southern, it’s always the little thingsthat make such a difference. Simple, thoughtful, small things like Christinameeting me upstairs before coming down, checking in on how I was. Before goinginto the ceremony, Jillian came out and calmed us. These small, additionalinteractions have meant so much to us over the last week.

The wedding itself was amazing. We decided to get married in the Garden Room because of how beautiful it is. Although we weren’t at our drinks reception for long due tophotos, our guests had a great time. The Guinness was flowing and everyone hastalked about how amazing the canapes were. The mini Beef and Guinness Pies werespecifically a hit. 

One of the main things every guest, and we really mean everyguest, has commented on is the food. Everyone was completely raving about itall. They loved that they had a choice of main on the day - this doesn’t happenat weddings in England. The meat, as always, was beautiful. Our guests wereshocked when the bowls of Potato, Vegetables and Cauliflower Cheese came out.They were even more shocked that they were offered seconds of the meat! A fewof our guests even mentioned that it was the best meal they’ve ever had at awedding - for some of those guests they said it was better than the food attheir own weddings! Thank you so much to your fantastic catering team. They aresimply amazing and we can’t wait to return to eat in the Garden Room.

As the evening rolled in, nothing was too much trouble. Jillian was amazing that evening. She had the early evening shift with us afterworking since before the ceremony too. The evening rolled in and again your staff were amazing. Theevening food, again perfect. Our flowers were taken away and put in water untilwe checked out. Again, the little things that make such a differencehere.  

Weddings in England are usually just the one day event but as most of our guests were flying over, we wanted to make sure we had another day ofcelebrations.This was absolutely perfect. A complete mixture of calmness whilstcatching up over events that happened the day and night before. The team thatnight did not stop. We had organised with Christina to have jugs of Pimms. Theymade a Pimms station which was so impressively done. Guests could add their ownfruit to their own preference and the drinks were certainly flowing. Again, the food was absolutely fantastic.

 

We recently had the pleasure of having our wedding reception at The Great Southern Killarney. It was an unforgettable experience. From the moment we first walked into this hotel in December 2019, we knew this was the one. From start to finish, nothing was too much trouble. We planned our wedding from Australia, and the patience of the wedding team, Christina & Julie had with us due to the time difference was amazing. We only arrived home from Australia a month before the wedding, we had our final meeting with Christina and she was such a pleasure to deal with even our last-minute changes to things was not an issue for them.

The setting was absolutely breath-taking. The Great Southern is nestled amidst lush gardens and offers stunning views that made the perfect backdrop for our photos. Our guests enjoyed our drinks reception while taking in the picturesque surroundings. The hotel, the staff, the professionalism and the food were out of this world. The setup of the drinks reception and dining hall was beautifully decorated and exactly what we asked for. Our vision of our special day was executed flawlessly. We are so grateful and thankful to everyone in The Great Southern and honestly cannot thank them enough.

We had the time of our lives from the minute we checked in until we checked out! The Great Southern was outstanding! You made all our dreams come true. You have been so fantastic over the last few months, always so quick to come back to an email and put in place every single request we had.

We’re on a high after a superb night at Great Southern Killarney for our wedding. The team went above and beyond in every aspect of our day to make sure we were happy. The level of service we received on the day of our wedding (and in the lead up) was second to none and we can’t thank everyone enough. jillian, Erin & the girls who looked after us in the drinks reception were wonderful. The layout of the drinks reception was stunning & ye provided so many things to enhance our ideas (the easels for the signs, the tayto wall etc). Everyone has been commenting on how beautiful the meal was; it was really plentiful and served quickly so we could rock on for the rest of the night. 

We flagged a couple of our priorities in the lead up to the day (in particular the meal service and the food). Ye exceeded our expectations in every way and again we can’t thank ye enough.

We just want to say a massive thank you to the team at Great Southern. You made the day run so smoothly and everything went off so well. Our guests were amazed by the food. The timing was perfect and everyone had more than enough. As for us on the top table we were treated like kings and queens. Personally I want to thank Christina for replying to my copious emails so promptly helping dealing with the stresses of the finer details. No job was too big or too small. We wish we could do the day all over again and wouldn't change a thing. 

Myself and Padraig just want to say thank you all so much for making our wedding so enjoyable. All of our guests have said it was the best wedding they have been at!

The quality of food, drink and service were of the highest standard and everything was perfect for us and our guests. I can't stress how beautiful the hotel was, all of our guests felt so comfortable and at home. The location was perfect as all our guests traveled and they could come and go over the weekend as they pleased. 

Communication with the wedding team, in particular Christina and Julie was so efficient. If we had any queries or concerns they have us reassurance and answered any questions we had immediately. After the ceremony we were handed drinks straight away..which was well needed and appreciated at that stage! On the day itself Jillian was amazing. She had everything under control and even held an umbrella and my dress as it rained and we went out for some photos!  Everyone complimented the "girl boss Jillian", as everyone could see how well she did her job and how much she loves her job. 

Our guests complimented how smooth everything was ran on the day. They reported that they wanted for nothing as staff were on hand for anything they needed. We couldn't recommend the Great Southern enough for any occasion. We can't thank the staff and the wedding team enough. 

It was the best weekend of our lives and they made it so that we could take it all in and not have to stress or think about anything.

Everything at the hotel was fantastic and even better than the high expectation’s we had of the Great Southern. The service from the staff was brilliant. They were so friendly and always ready to help. All our guests mentioned how good the service and food was. When we entered the hotel the staff were there to clap and greet us as a team and we didn’t expect that. It was a lovely touch. At the top table the team leader that was at our table was in constant communication with myself and Michelle as to what was happening next and what we wished to do. 

The choice of food at the wedding tasting was very extensive. The food was delicious and guests were offered extras at each table. The wedding team was so professional and great to work with. Any late changes to our table plan and to our menu was never an issue. Every email was answered quickly and efficiently. We just wish we could do it all again. Top class hotel with a wonderful team.

Kevin and I held our wedding on the 3rd June 2023 at the Great Southern. The hotel was absolutely amazing and everything was perfect from start to finish. To the welcome as we arrived to the care as we left. Christina in the weddings team went above and beyond to make our day everything we wanted it to be and more. She excels in her post and is an amazing person. No matter what request we had or idea she was all ears and made it all happen.

From Jillian to Steve at the reception… Jillian is an expert at her job. The function room looked amazing, just as I had wanted it to look. She was always 5 steps ahead and is such a beautiful lady to deal with and great fun. Steve was the man with the food. All my guests are still talking about how amazing the food was. It was top class and plenty of it. Bellies were full until breakfast.  

There was always someone there if u needed anything. We never had to look for anyone to get anything which I thought was just a touch of class. We also had our day 2 in the hotel, in Fredericks. It was such a great day. Again food and service was 5 stars.

I couldn’t recommend the Great Southern Hotel enough.  We want to do it all over again.  Our two little boys had the ‘best weekend of their lives!’, to quote them.

Literally, all I had to do was drop off the decorations, sweets, flip flops etc that I wanted (however, the hotel is already so well decorated and beautifully presented, you really don't need to add much more). After that, it was just a matter of showing up and being whisked along by the Team and Staff with everything taken care of. The hotel looked incredible, and we honestly felt like royalty for the day we were so well taken care of. The wedding suites alone are another reason I would plan my wedding at this hotel, they are absolutely incredible and perfect for getting ready in for the morning of the wedding. 

From the morning right up to the late-night resident's bar, the team and staff kept the whole day on schedule like a well-oiled machine. All vendors were well-acquainted with the hotel and worked directly with the hotel staff behind the scenes. I not once had to think what needed to be done next, I may as well have been a guest as well at the wedding, it was amazing! We had endless compliments from the guests about how beautiful the wedding setting was and how good the food was. And another thing to note, there was never a shortage of food either.  

It was so easy working with the wedding team during the planning stages and they were always so quick and responsive to any questions I had. We would without a doubt recommend the Great Southern to anyone who was planning a wedding, you are guaranteed to be in safe hands. Thanks so much again Julie and Christina for everything, we had the most incredible day because of all of them and the staff's hard work!

It sounds so cliché, but our wedding day was truly the most perfect day, the best day of our lives for sure! From everything from the lead up, to the day, the team at the Great Southern were just fantastic. 

We knew from the first zoom call, to do a tour that we found our dream venue, and that we would be well looked after. Then after securing the date, and organising all of our suppliers we were so relieved and encouraged that every single one of our suppliers knew the hotel and only had amazing things to say too! 

The menu tasting was a highlight in the wedding planning, Stephen was fantastic and our family still talk about him! We genuinely felt like royalty. When people were asking me how wedding planning was going I could only say back “I have no idea why anyone thinks organising a wedding is stressful, it’s been so easy” and upon reflection, it was that easy because we had a team of incredible people who know exactly what’s what, to help plan and create this day for us. 

The day itself was just amazing. So many of my guests said it was the best wedding they had ever been to. Including my dad who is notoriously the hardest person in the world to please, he did not have a single criticism all day. I’ve never seen him so happy- so thank you for that!! My uncle Dave had shot many weddings at your venue and he kept telling me how looked after we would be but also couldn’t stop saying how incredible it was to be a guest at a wedding there. Everything just went flawlessly. 

Julie was incredible to work with. She made sure our vision was executed to perfection. She kept me up to date on bits and pieces that needed our attention and above all of that, she was such a relaxing and encouraging presence on the day too. There was no moment at all during the day I felt I had to worry about anything. I had full trust that you would deliver, and deliver you did!!! 

Special thanks to Jillian as well, she was a Rockstar, always made sure we were comfortable and “hydrated”, and kept up to date throughout the day too. I cannot recommend the Great Southern enough!

The wedding team at the Great Southern were extremely helpful, accommodating and kind to us on our wedding day. The hotel and venue are simply stunning and we were extra blessed to have excellent weather that day in Killarney. Which meant our guests not only got to enjoy the comfortable, beautiful venue but also enjoy the hotel's stunning grounds and gardens. The food was absolutely delicious and many of our guests remarked at how generous the portions were too! Which as we all know at an Irish wedding is very important!! We loved our wedding day at The Great Southern Hotel. We chose to get married in the Garden Room which by itself is an experience. Overall the hotel gave us great service, friendly faces and staff and a relaxed atmosphere which was exactly what we wanted for our day!

Thank you to all of the team for helping us celebrate such a special day with our loved ones. We will never forget it and the hotel will always have a special place in our hearts.

Every member of the Great Southern staff were fantastic as well, Stephen & his colleague who helped sheppard us to our seats during dinner, Sean, the reception & housekeeping, the bartenders & servers on the day and the kitchen staff. We've been told by plenty of people it was the best food they've had at a wedding and we agree.

We really appreciate all of Christina's efforts coordinating things and ensuring they went off without a hitch on the day. Christina & the team truly pulled out of all of the stops and made it very easy for us to relax and enjoy the day.

I personally found all the staff so kind and so helpful from start to finish! They even collected my shoes when I abandoned them in the middle of the night! Every time there was a change of staff we were introduced to them and welcomed by them. We were very impressed. 

The service was wonderful - the food was excellent. Everyone is still talking about how delicious their food was, how much food they had and how their wine glasses were constantly being filled. 

Our experience of everything related to the hotel on our wedding day was just excellent.. It was so helpful meeting Julie as helped us get everything in check and was so down to earth and honest.

I just want to say thank you to everyone at Great Southern Killarney for making our Wedding day so perfect. We had the best weekend. From start to finish everything was perfect. Guests are still contacting us thanking them for such a great weekend and raving about the hotel. The Galway gang were so impressed with everything. The food, the guest rooms and day 2 was a huge hit. Fredericks was absolutely amazing.  We hadn't seen the court yard on the day we first viewed but was so worth the wait. We got to have the BBQ outside which made day 2 even more relaxing. It was so chilled and everyone just mingled. Christina was a pleasure to deal with and made planning our wedding a lot easier.

Thanks to Julie as well for always following up with us. It put myself and Ferdia so at ease. Oh and everyone is talking about the amazing Pizzas at our wedding! Myself and Andrew cannot put into words how grateful we are for each and every one at the Great Southern, what we expected our day to be they made it so much more. It was magical not just for myself and Andrew but for each and every one of our guests. To this day they are still taking about it from the warm welcome, to the beautiful staff, the drinks, the food, the whole flow of the day and evening. Even for our day two the whole experience was phenomenal. If we were to redo our wedding day again we wouldn’t change one single thing. Thank you so much for making our day the best of our lives.

I was so impressed by the weddings team at Great Southern. Everyone was so responsive and communicative and overall it seemed like a very organised process. The team were all accommodating and it was such a highlight to be able to have Sri Lankan food at the wedding. Ajith and the team were fantastic, we had so many compliments about the food (all dishes) and thanks for being so helpful around the time of the tasting. The tasting itself and the restaurant staff were really good on the evening of the tasting. The ceremony spaces and flowers all came out so well and overall the day was just as we would have liked. Overall a great experience and I am very thankful to the weddings team and Ajith for making it happen. 

The wedding tasting experience- the food was great, anysmall comment/adjustment we had was catered for. No stress/ no hassle. All the staff at the hotel are great. From helping us withour bags to unloading the drinks reception items. To the general chit chatin the lobby area. The wedding team were brilliant. Againeverything was stress free, all the little adjustments on rooms/ package werehandled smoothly. Also the pre wedding call and checklist was great. It reallyput us at ease, when people asked us "have you everything ready for thewedding :)". The staff on the day of the wedding were superb. Having thewaitress assigned to the table was great. And then there was always someone on hand for those specialrequests, like a brush for the brush dance. The food on the night was amazing. The amount of people thatcommented on the quality of the steak and fish, wondering how they could do itto that standard for all the crowd. Thanks for making our wedding day seamless. We reallygot to relax and enjoy it. 

Words cannot thank Christina enough for the hard work the team and you put into making our wedding day so special. From start to finish when we booked our wedding in May to the actual day everything done, did not go unnoticed. Nothing was too difficult a problem and you guys made it all so seamless even though we live on the opposite sides of the world. The attention to detail from all staff and the professionalism was outstanding. Everybody was talking about how amazing the food and service was on the day. We didn't have to worry about a single thing and for that I thank you so much.

Where to start, the whole experience was seamless! TheWeddings Team at the Great Southern are consummate professionals! We werereally looked after from day 1, they made all of the planning easy and took thestress out of it all. Our wedding co-ordinator Christina in particular wasexcellent, she was always available for a question and thought of everything,helping us to relax and enjoy it all on the day! We were made to feel like VIPsfrom the moment we got to the hotel the day before and looked after by all ofthe staff throughout. All of our guests were praising the hotel and rooms, thestaff, the service and the food. We couldn't have asked for more, it really wasperfect and the perfect wedding venue.

We got married in December and I would recommend the Great Southern to anyone for their big day. We unfortunately had to reschedule our wedding due to Covid and the Great Southern were a pleasure to deal with and so accommodating. On the day, the service and attention to detail was outstanding, the decor was beautiful and the food was phenomenal with several of our guests commenting that it was "the best wedding meal they have ever had". Christina our coordinator was amazing in the lead up to and including the day. 

We genuinely hadthe most amazing day everything was just exceptional from the gorgeous feastthat was delivered to the room on the morning when we were getting ready to theabsolutely stunning meal. Numerous people have said the steak was the nicestthey have ever tasted. Everybody had the most amazing day. Christina was justamazing and nothing was an issue, the decor was amazing genuinely we could notrate the whole day high enough. As my dad said in his speech the waiting staffwere like his mother he was so well looked after, Thank you all so much for the most amazing day it was an absolute dream. 

Just wanted to say a massive THANK YOU to you and all of the team at the Great Southern for making our Wedding day so special. Everything went so smoothly and the attention to detail was phenomenal. From the moment we arrived on Wednesday to when we checked out Saturday everything from start to finish was incredible and the staff and service was amazing!

The meal was was absolutely superb, all of our guests were raving about the food and wine (big thanks to the amazing chefs) especially the striploin which was cooked to perfection and so tender, so many of our guests mentioned this and how beautiful the hotel was and of course how amazing the staff and service was. The Christmas decor was stunning. Just absolutely everything was incredible - it was everything we could have asked for and more.

John & I can’t thank you and all at the Great Southern enough we had the time of our lives! Julie was so great to deal with throughout the few months and leading up to the wedding and everything we had requested leading up to the big day - everything was AMAZING. Thank you thank you thank you!

We got married in the Great Southern on the 28th of October 2022. Having attended several weddings here in the past we looked at no other options when booking our own. From start to finish the wedding team exceeded all our expectations.Their calm, efficient manner made the planning process hassle and stress free.Christina was a dream to work with and no request was too big or small for her to accommodate. Their timely prompts for guest lists, table plans etc is done with such precision that you don’t even realise you are getting some of the hardest work done. 

The exceptional quality of food and service is a credit to everyone involved. Food was served piping hot and a ta standard which is most challenging to achieve with a large crowd. Waiting staff were exceptional and there was no delays between courses. Our guests with dietary requirements were blown away by the attention to their needs. We danced the night away and into the early hours of the morning in the residents bar until 4am. We stayed 2 nights and were made feel so special by staff from the check in desk to porters to breakfast staff to cleaning staff and so on! 

 

Our guests had the most amazing day and we will be forever grateful for the staff of the Great Southern for making our day so special. 

 

We just wanted to say thank you so very much for being sucha wonderful part of our big day. The whole team has been a delight to work with from theget-go and the whole day (week, even) was perfect. We couldn't ask for more. The venue was stunning, evenbetter than we could have imagined and all the staff were so kind andefficient. Shoutout especially to Julie, Liam, Jillian and Caitlyn. We were sowell minded. Thank you all. The accommodation (the Railway Cottage, in particular) wastop class. The perfect base to visit Killarney and an excellent spot to getready for a wedding. It was a stunning location for 1st looks, as the weatherdid not particularly permit for us to do too many outdoor photos. We will most definitely be back.

 

From the moment we had our initial meeting in the Great Southern in 2019, we just knew that it was the perfect venue for us. We unfortunately had to postpone from 2021 to 2022 due to covid and the Great Southern were a dream to work with even through that period of uncertainty. We had the most amazing experience the morning of the wedding in the Kennedy suite and captured some stunning pictures throughout the hotel. It was the perfect location in the centre of Killarney for our guests, we got married in St.Mary's cathedral which is a stone's throw away from the hotel which made everything so seamless and easy for us on the day. The service is exceptional and we can't recommend celebrating your wedding here enough. Every member of staff we spoke with were so kind and considerate which is exactly what you want during the lead up to your wedding. We can't wait to come back and visit the Great Southern again as it will always hold a special place in our hearts. 

We first met with Denise back in Sept'19and we absolutely LOVED the venue and how accommodating Denise was. We had previouslybeen to two weddings in the hotel and loved it but fell in love with the hoteleven more after viewing it. It was the first hotel we looked at and when wewere leaving we joked "will we just go back and book now" We werenewly engaged so viewed another hotel after the Great Southern and we weresurprised at how unorganised and unprofessional the other hotel was, we rangDenise later that evening and she held a date provisionally for us 

Unfortunately covid hit and while we thought during 2020 wewould be ok to go ahead in May 21, however we realised in Jan'21 that we mayneed to start looking at other options. We asked Denise for a list of dates andwe changed to Aug'22. Everything was so easy and effortless when changing thedate. We had some suppliers who made postponing difficult but the hotel reallymade it as effortless as possible. 

Fast forward to Mar'22 and we took a mid week break to theGreat Southern, we were leaving breakfast and bumped into Denise and arranged aquick catch up with her. Unfortunately we were after quite a difficult fewmonths and explained to Denise that wedding planning was the furthest thingfrom our minds but intended on going ahead with Aug'22. Denise couldn't havebeen more understanding or sensitive to our situation. 

As Aug'22 grew closer and closer, wedding plans ramped up atour side and the hotel couldnt have been more accommodating. The room list wasreally important to us and I had several phone calls with the accommodationdept arranging rooms / changing rooms etc and no request was ever an issue.None of the guests knew the effort that went into the room list but there wasseveral compliments over the wedding weekend at how nice the rooms were, howmuch people loved having a balcony, how big the beds were etc so we weredelighted to hear this. We really appreciate the effort the hotel put in here.I also requested that wedding cake would be put in the rooms for the bridalparty and this really went down a treat so thank you. 

We really cant emphasise enough how amazing Denise was inthe lead up to the wedding, one example was we found it hard to get a date forthe final details meeting but Denise was so understanding and met us at 7pm inthe evening which meant a later shift for Denise which we really appreciated. 

Our meal tasting was absolutely divine, we really enjoyedit. I'd nearly get married again (to the same groom!) just so we could do ourmeal tasting again. It really was such a lovely experience, we both thoroughlyenjoyed it. We struggled to find feedback being honest, Everything was perfectand so gorgeous, any of our feedback was only small things. On the day the mealwas absolutely gorgeous. For weeks after the wedding we were still gettingcompliments about how nice the meal was!  

The day after the wedding, we had the BBQ in the hotel andwe were so lucky with the weather that everyone was able to enjoy being outsidein the gardens for it. The BBQ was absolutely divine, so so tasty. Again Denisewas amazing here and a huge help with giving us names of a musician (who wentdown an absolute treat with guests) and also helping with a last minute rush toget a marquee when we realised our numbers were going so high. 

From the moment we chose to view The Great Southern as a potential wedding venue, no other place could come close. From start to finish each and every member of the team and staff in the hotel went above and beyond to ensure every moment was as we wished and more. The experience the team has is second to none and we were so grateful for the advice given. Your team went out of their way to make ourselves and our parents feel welcome on our tasting evening and it was so appreciated.
Our wedding day was so smooth as a result of the incredibly impressive attention to detail you planned. We were able to sit back and enjoy each moment, secure in the knowledge that your team were making every guest feel welcome and cared for. There is not a single thing I would change about how you set the venue up and ran the evening, a sheer sign of your professionalism and care. The food was impeccable and despite it being months since the day people we bump into still tell us it’s the best meal they have ever had! Although writing this I appreciate words cannot do how professional, caring and welcoming your staff are. Great Southern is the most amazing hotel to get married in, especially if you are looking for a stress free day. The staff could not do enough for us from start to finish. Everything that the Great Southern touched was nothing short of absolute perfection. In speaking to our guests and in what we experienced ourselves- we have not experienced anything like that before. We could not be happier with how the day turned out. Also, Pedro was a lifesaver during the rehearsal dinner and was so unbelievably accommodating.

Myself and Kevin would like to say a huge thank you to all the staff of the Great Southern Hotel. We cannot speak highly enough of how kind and accommodating all the staff were on lead up and on the day of our wedding. No task was too big and nothing was ever a problem. 

Everything on the day was just perfect, the drinks reception was beautiful and the piano player provided by the hotel was simply stunning and created a beautiful atmosphere.

When we got engaged in Jan 2022, we researched some hotelsto have as our wedding venue but deep down having had talked about The GreatSouthern, we knew that it was the hotel for us.

From when be booked our wedding to when we checked out twodays after the wedding, we could not have asked for anything more. Everyone onthe wedding team were so kind, friendly and obliging when ever I rang, evenputting me at ease during the stressful periods.

On our wedding weekend, everything from start to finish wasperfect. There was not one thing we could fault. From the staff in the hotel tothe Concierge, nothing seemed to be a problem. The highlight of the day (everyguest is still talking about) is the food. It was simply sublime. 

The sublime food carried on into the next day where we had aBBQ in The Chaplin Room. We cannot thank you enough for putting so much effort intomaking our day the most special day. We will never forget what you achieved for us.

Our wedding at the Great Southern Hotel was everything we could have dreamed of. We were due to get married in May 2020, and due to covid we had to postpone three times, and luckily, we finally had our big day in April 2022. The wedding coordinators Denise and Katie with whom we worked closely with since we booked our original date could not have been nicer, they honestly did everything they could to help us when stress levels were high when we were faced with the unknown and were always so responsive over the phone or through emails.

Our wedding day was spectacular, every member of staff in the hotel from the door men to the receptionists to the waiters, could not do enough for you. We even had the afternoon lady help us with a small mishap with my mother’s dress on the morning of the wedding. Our reception was magical, the layout of drinks, and canopies was superb. Our guests are still raving about the incredible food and kindness and generosity of the staff before, during and after the meal. The groom had forgotten his paper that had his speech and Denise had it printed off within minutes, super-efficient like always.

Anything we ever asked for was done without any hassle, it made us feel so much at ease. I couldn’t recommend this hotel highly enough for couples planning their wedding day. I would love to do it all over again, and I wouldn’t change one thing. Thank you so much for making our dreams come through!

Thanks to all team at Great Southern for all the work in organising our wedding. We had the best day of our lives. From the first enquiry, your team has been so helpful, responsive & professional. It was a pleasure to deal with Denise and Katie especially. On the day of the wedding it was such a relief to know that everything would run smoothly, Denise especially was so welcoming, friendly and helpful!

So many of our guests commented on the fantastic food, brilliant staff and fantastic atmosphere at our wedding and I am so glad we were able to celebrate at your hotel. A couple of other key call outs were the late night staff who had to listen to us butcher many a song late into the night, they were so nice to us even at 4am! The night porter who kindly dropped us up extra water to our room, and also my Mom had help from a lovely brazilian staff member (so sorry I never got his name) who helped her cut up some of the wedding cake the next day for our second day event, he was so so lovely & helpful.

Firstly can I start off by saying Julie was amazing to us on the day and in the weeks leading up to the wedding. She was very helpful at providing information and advice. Nothing we asked of her was too much and she is a credit to the Hotel. Katie was phenomenal in the lead up to the wedding also.

Secondly, the other staff of the hotel were amazing from start to finish. The wait staff in the ballroom were brilliant and the service was expertly managed. The feedback we have received about the food has been excellent. Even the staff in the restaurant for breakfast were lovely, the person who greeted me Tuesday morning even told the person seating me that I was the bride from Sunday so I continued to feel very special.

The food, the service and the atmosphere of the hotel is what makes the Great Southern so special and head and shoulders above the competition.

Thank you so much for all the help and guidance you have given us since we met at our first viewing. The whole process was made as stress free as possible. The list of suppliers you recommended couldn’t have been better! Words cannot thank the staff at the Great Southern Hotel enough for their generosity and hospitality during our wedding in February 2022. Throughout the 18th months of planning there was never an issue and the wedding planners went above and beyond their duty to ensure that everything was as we wished on the day. From the menu tasting, to the many visits to confirm details, everything was so enjoyable in the lead up to the day. And this experience only surpassed itself on the wedding day itself! Tony and I first laid eyes on Great Southern Killarney during a trip to Ireland in 2017 when Tony said "that would be an amazing place to get married." This statement couldn't have been closer to the truth. From our first enquiry, Denise was kind, professional, and accommodating helping us plan a wedding that fit us as a couple. Denise and the wedding team were always available in a timely manner by email, phone, or zoom and constantly went above and beyond to help in any way possible. Planning a wedding abroad during new covid variants was challenging, but Denise's understanding, reassurance, and assistance made the process as smooth as possible. During our stay the entire wedding team and hotel staff were all extremely gracious to our family and friends. We were able to enjoy our time, confident that everything was taken care of. The wedding day itself went perfectly and Katie was there checking in to make sure every detail was how we pictured it. From the decorations, to the food, to the service every single aspect of our day far exceeded expectations. We are so thankful to the entire wedding team for everything that went into making our day perfect.

We celebrated our wedding in the Great Southern Hotel in December last and to be quite honest there are no words that we can write here that would give it enough praise or justice. We have made several attempts to sit down and compose this message but each time we were lost for words as the day absolutely swept us off our feet. We had the most amazing few days in this wonderful hotel and we made a lifetime of memories along the way. The care and attention that we received from the wedding team and everybody here was second to none and we and all our guests were made feel so special from start to finish. This hotel oozes with class in every corner of its magnificent interior. Our special day was so magical for us and we both know that this was down to the exceptional care and expertise of each and every member of staff. Planning a wedding during Covid times was challenging but the hotel always managed to put us at ease and were extremely accommodating right throughout the process. Not alone were the decorative interior and splendid Christmas decorations a focal talking point amongst our guests but everybody that attended paid huge compliments towards the food, service and of course the gorgeous drinks reception. As a newly married couple, we will never be able to fully thank each and every one of you enough for making it the best day of both our lives.
The Great Southern Hotel is truly an amazing hotel and we cannot recommend it highly enough as a wedding venue. We will be forever grateful to you all for making our dream come true.

To highlight how amazing you, the wedding team and the hotel were, I need to start from the beginning. From the moment we got engaged in Dec 2018 in room 202, the GS went above and beyond to make our stay so incredibly special. We knew that weekend that we would get married in the GS. We met with you shortly after that (I’m sure it was over that Christmas holidays), and we had everything booked. Gearing up for the wedding was complicated with the arrival of Covid and our complete denial that it would still affect our wedding in Dec 2020, but you were always there, only a phone call away, and I always felt better any time we spoke. Through all the chopping and changing of the wedding plans, you were there, and when we decided to postpone, you and the team could not have been more accommodating, which made it so much easier on us.
After some time off thinking about the wedding, the plans kicked off again around September 2021 and Philip, and I were determined it would go ahead this time. Again, you were there through it all, sending the reminders, highlighting things we had not thought of. You are a well-oiled machine, knowing everything that is needed for a successful day. During this time, we had a few stays in the GS, one for our menu tasting (we eat so much fantastic food), where we were back in room 202 and a trip with my sister and mom for my makeup trial. Again, a stay where we were treated like queens. The staff, food, and hotel rooms are welcoming, making it hard to leave. You have been the main one to organise those stays so thank you so much.
On the 20th of Dec 2021 we arrived for the wedding; from the moment I stepped into the hotel, Pedro was there to meet us, helping us with all our bags, dresses, suits and all the wedding material for the function room. The check-in process was a breeze, and it felt so special to be there and have everyone falling all over us. Dinner in the Picture room is something I will treasure forever. The private set-up for my close family and friends was excellent, and the staff were so friendly and chatty. Overall, the service was terrific. Even when one groomsman arrived late, they ensured he was fed, even with the kitchen closing. It’s that attention that put the GS above anyone else.
On the day of the wedding, I don’t have words. It was the most magical day of our lives. From the minute I woke in the bridal suite, anything we needed was a phone call away from extension leads, our breakfast, calls for prosecco, etc. Meeting you on my way out of the room in my dress and walking down the stairs, I remember every bit of it; it truly was my fairy tale moment. Once we returned from the church, we were greeted with prosecco and the red carpet. I could cry when I think of how special those moments were; we felt famous. During the drinks reception, I had staff (in particular Liam) come over to check if I was ok and if we wanted anything (a drink, a plate of food). Again, this, to me, is exceptional service. Once we saw the function room set up, you, the wedding team and the banquet team did everything I asked for, having the confetti where we wanted, the knitted Christmas trees and of course Catriona and her incredible flowers. During the dinner, everything was perfect; the staff were so excellent, again constantly checking if we needed anything and ensuring we had drinks when required. The food service was so efficient and the food, oh the food (everyone was talking about it). We then danced the night away, and even with the 12 finish, we got to sit around together and have our little sing-song.
Our day two did not go as planned as my sister was unwell, but we still managed to sit around, eat the incredible food, and use the open tab we had on the bar. Our friends and family were delighted to sit around and debrief on the wedding day.
One person I need to mention here is Stephen; from the moment we met him at our menu tasting right through to our wedding, he was incredible, and again on the second day. My sister was very unwell the day after the wedding (where we all got a fright, severe dehydration from partying too hard a the wedding), but Stephen quickly stepped in and took over. He was just amazing, knowing exactly what to do, making sure my sister, Philip and I and my parents had everything we needed. Thankfully my sister was ok; a short trip to the hospital that evening for some fluids had her sorted.
Once everyone had gone, Philip and I stayed another night. We sat in the reading room, sipping on G&Ts and reminisced on the whole experience. Again, I could not fault it. There is nothing I would change, nothing I would do differently. Everything was perfect for the entire stay, the staff, the service, and the function room. I only wish I could do it all over again.
On the 1st of Jan 2022, we returned for a two-night stay to start our new year in our favourite place. After mentioning to reservations that we had just got married, we arrived to stay in room 202 with a bottle of prosecco on ice waiting for us. These little touches make you feel so special; no other hotel we have stayed in does this.

First of all we want to thank everyone at the hotel for making our day so special. We imagined the day for so long and it went off just perfectly. It's is hard to put into words how much we appreciate how far the staff went for us for our special day. Katie & Denise were always on hand to answer any questions and cater to all of our needs. They were a pleasure to deal with and we really appreciate how much they made it feel like we were the only wedding in the hotel ever! We have visited the hotel many times and from the minute you walk through the door you really are made feel very special.
We would like to thank Gillian for her amazing organisation on the day. She was absolutely outstanding and we couldn't have asked for a better manager on the day. The food was incredible and the feedback from guests was surreal. Every comment about the hotel - the atmosphere, the food and the staff was second to none.
Many of our guests had never stayed before and now they mentioned if they are going to Killarney again there is nowhere else they could stay except the Great Southern.
You really are made feel so special in the hotel and that's what we love about it. We had day 2 in hotel also and it was absolutely perfect.
Nothing is ever too much for any of the staff and it shows as there is one nicer than the next. The room we got married in was picture perfect with the amazing architecture. The glass corridor down to the drinks reception and the function room itself are all absolutely stunning. If anyone is thinking about a wedding here we couldn't recommend enough.
We cannot wait to come back and visit and stay in this magical hotel!

From the first meeting we had with Denise, we knew the Great Southern was the venue for us. Our planning despite Covid restrictions throughout could not have been easier. Nothing was an issue and everyone was simply brilliant to work with. We must mention Denise especially who was just the dream to work with. We would highly recommend the Great Southern as a wedding venue. There were plenty of uncertainties around covid, including additional restrictions of a midnight close being announced two days before our wedding, however Katie & the team were very helpful and accommodating, especially with numbers changing last minute. Katie was at hand in the months, weeks & days leading up to the wedding, always at the other end of an email/ phone call. The meal tasting was so enjoyable, and greatly added to the excitement of the build up to the wedding. Sean, the porter was so friendly & efficient at helping us the day before & after the wedding in dropping off and collecting any items.

On the day itself, our guests loved the drinks reception, with the hot toddies, mulled wine & mulled cider being a big hit, as well as the delicious canapes. We had our speeches out in the reception area before going in for the main meal, that worked really well and the team had no problem accommodating this request. The food was gorgeous as well, with plenty to go around. Gillian & her team managed it all so smoothly, including the bar staff juggling orders ranging from trays of shots to pint glasses to keep the bouquets fresh. We also had the ham hock as part of the late night food and that went down really well.

I would recommend couples to stay on a second night so you can soak up the experience of staying at the Great Southern. The rooms are so comfortable & luxurious, and of course that breakfast! The night porter even suggested as we were going to bed that we get breakfast delivered to the room the next morning, and to go to the breakfast room just for tea & coffee so we could mingle after being well fed. It's the little touches like that from all team members at the Great Southern that make it so special for a wedding. There are weddings every weekend at the Great Southern which means that on the day they run like clockwork, yet in the run up to the wedding, you feel like you're the only couple that the hotel is planning for, and on the day itself it feels very unique.

From the moment we went to view the hotel for our wedding we knew there was no where else that would even compare. Our wedding coordinator, Denise, was amazing from the start, nothing was ever and issue and she made everything so easy and straightforward the whole way through the planning and on the day itself.

Barry and I had our wedding reception at Great Southern on October 23rd. It was the most amazing day from start to finish. As a couple planning a wedding during a pandemic and having to postpone our February date, Great Southern could not have done more to keep us at ease throughout the many ups and downs!
On the month leading up to the wedding, we had many conversations and emails to ensure everything would run smoothly. No job was too big or too small and every request was met with positivity. We always came away from meeting the staff with the feeling of certainty that we wouldn’t need to worry about a thing on the day of the wedding. The standards of professional service was just unbeatable!
We got fantastic tips from Denise about the week of the wedding to eliminate stress. We were able to drop off lots of our stationary/ signage etc a few days beforehand and everything was perfect on the day. We did not have one moment of stress from once we arrived at the hotel the day before the wedding until we left three days later.
The venue was stunning on the day, the suppliers were all looked after so well and the guests were treated like royalty. The warmth of the staff was mentioned to us every time we had a conversation about our wedding since our big day. Another thing that was praised by every guest was the food! Every dish was absolute perfection! People were so impressed when they were offered seconds of fillet steaks or sea bass and every guest was accommodated for their dietary requirements in a very discreet manner.
No matter what our guests asked for, they were accommodated. Friends brought their 13 day old baby with them and were shown to an area that was quiet so that the baby could sleep.
We have been to weddings in the Great Southern before as guests and we had been very impressed so we had very high expectations, but our experience superseded those.
The structure of the day was coordinated so well by staff that we never had to think about time or worry about running late for any element of the day.

We had a superb Wedding Day, way beyond we imagined it could be. The Great Southern Hotel was spectacular. The staff from management to chefs, waitresses and waiters the service was so attentive and professional. The menu we choose was excellent, cooked to perfection and presented at its best. From the minute we arrived at the hotel to enquire of the wedding, we had a feeling it was going to be right. The whole package was exceptional, as a Bride the support behind the scenes and the presentation of our wedding cake and displays and props were done effortlessly.
Nothing was ever a problem from you Denise and for other members of staff. You were there for all the important times right by my side and as an older couple that was important for us.
We can not wait to return for many years to come to celebrate our anniversaries. All of our guests are still talking abput the wonderful experience they had at the Great Southern Hotel. In their words they were never at a wedding like it!! We are still living the dream. Look forward to seeing you all in 2022.

Honestly Jillian, Stephen and the chefs and every single staff member made mine and Anthony dreams come true. Every single part of our day was magical from the minute we walked into the hotel being greeted by staff to the food and the atmosphere you created we were just in awe of you guys. I always dreamed of having my wedding in your hotel but never did I think it would be on the level it was.

Every single person that attended the wedding had praised how fabulous the hotel was and the food was such a hit that people are still craving it. We left saying this will be our forever holiday hotel because the memories are just so amazing.

As soon as we got engaged we didnt even look at another venue to host our wedding as we had been to my friends wedding at Great Southern in 2017 and knew from that night that this was the venue for us.

From the initial consultation virtually and when securing our date ye were beyond amazing. It made planning our wedding in an impossible and stressful situation during a global pandemic an easy task.

Ye honestly went above and beyond for us. Everything was amazing from start to finish. We honestly could not have had a more positive experience. We felt like absolute celebrities from the moment we walked in the door for our wedding. The welcome we received and not only us all our family as well.

The self catering houses were absolutely perfect for Johns family. They were delighted with them. Our meal the night before in our own room was amazing and a fabulous start to our celebrations. The fact that we could stay in the bridal suite for 3 nights was fantastic, the fact I didn't have to leave the hotel before the church was amazing..

Anything we asked for was not an issue. The welcome we received when I left for the church was fantastic and we were overwhelmed by the greeting we got on arrival back as newlyweds.

You're attention to detail is unbelievable.. people are still talking about the drinks reception and the way it was decorated and organised..

The meal was absolutely outstanding. People are still talking about the food and how good the service was. Stephen and Jillan were amazing.

Ye honestly made what could have been such a stressful day so hassle free and enjoyable. We thoroughly enjoyed every 2nd of our day and we are still on a high since.

Planning a wedding in a world recovering from a global Pandemic is not easy, there are so many uncertainties and insecurities. Menu is quite vast, and the food is beautiful. Wine and drink choices were also fantastic. The staff team is amazing. Our wedding coordinator, Denise, has incredible knowledge to make our day perfect in every detail. Gillian and her team made the day happen smoothly and beautifully. We are both eternally grateful for the service we received on our Wedding Day. Although the setting is obviously beautiful in itself, the staff absolutely made the day for us. There was literally nothing they wouldn't do for us to make us and our guests completely at ease and welcome in the hotel. They were fantastic, from the wedding Co-ordinators Denise and Katie who had endless patience, to Gillian who ran the day with military precision, to Sean at the entrance, Liam at the bar and Alana serving. They were outstanding, Gillian could run the country with her eyes closed, she was a pleasure and a joy to deal with, as were they all.

We requested to do our photos back at the hotel as it was just such a beautiful setting, from the steps at the front door to the garden and terrace at the back. Our wedding experience at the Great Southern Killarney was excellent. This was our second attempt to get married after we delayed it a year due to Covid. Denise and Katie supported us throughout. Any worries, requests or questions we had were managed effectively and efficiently. The lead in to the wedding was made stress free. Obviously with Covid there were last minute changes to the table plan but the Great Southern were able to accommodate this with ease. The day itself ran seamlessly from the welcome when we arrived, right through to the end of the night. Nothing was too much trouble. The drinks reception in the garden was fantastic and we were blessed by the fabulous weather. The food and wine for the meal was delicious and this was echoed by our guests. How do we put into words how happy we were with our choice of the Great Southern?! Weddings can be challenging to organise at the best of times not to mind in the middle of a global pandemic! Having had to postpone our wedding and with ever changing guidelines we didn't really know how the day would turn out. However, with Denise's attention to detail particularly in the lead up to the wedding no stone was left unturned. She completely put our mind at ease on every aspect of the reception in the Great Southern from smaller things such as advice on the layout of the room to advice on what additional extras are most appealing to guests. We couldn't speak more highly of Denise and the support she gave to us throughout the process of organising our wedding.

This support continued on the day itself where Denise was everywhere at once! Everything went so smoothly under Denise's and Jadwiga's watchful eyes. From the beautiful breakfast in the bridal room prior to the ceremony, the drinks reception, and most importantly the meal itself, everything was done to the highest possible standard. We honestly couldn't have asked for more. We got fantastic reports from our friends and family about the food not only about the meal but also the canapés and scones served during drinks reception which went down a treat! The fantastic service overall in the hotel was noted by all of our guests. We were delighted as we saw first hand the effort the staff went to meet ours and our guests' needs. The service really was to a very high standard and exceeded all expectations.

Further to this our guests staying at the hotel were really accommodated and thoroughly enjoyed their stay. We were particularly thrilled with our parent's rooms as it was clear that they were carefully selected and made them feel very special. My brother and sister's families had such a fantastic experience too. They absolutely loved the hotel and felt that they were treated extra special. My 8 year old niece Jane is still talking about her stay and that it was her favourite hotel she has ever been to. She already wants all the families to plan a visit back! Special mention to Kamile who went above and beyond to help my sister fix her dress after her small baby had an accident prior to family photos!!

Finally, we were thrilled that we decided to have a BBQ in the gardens the next day. We got so many compliments on the high quality of food served, the staff and how accommodating the staff were. Jadwiga kept up the high standard from the day before! The way the space was laid out was beautiful and really showed off the wonderful setting of the hotel which really is a sight to behold.

We feel lucky to have celebrated our wedding in such a fabulous hotel. Not only is it beautiful inside with vast grounds but more importantly a hotel that sets such a high standard for themselves that you really feel you're in a safe pair of hands. We would have no hesitation recommending the Great Southern to any prospective couple getting married.

We got married in August 2020 and we have nothing but good memories of the day. From the time we booked the venue all the way up until the morning after our wedding day, the standard of care, courtesy, and professionalism was second to none. The first time we chatted with Denise and Rachel they were so welcoming and easy to deal with, nothing was ever a problem, and anything we needed to know Denise or Rachel were always on the other side of the phone or email. Obviously, due to COVID things were changing on a week to week basis but I was always kept in the loop and up to date with protocols and I was never chasing them for answers. The organisation should have been very stressful with the constantly changing guidelines but Rachel dealt with everything for us so that we had no stress. We had a lovely evening doing the menu tasting and in the few weeks leading up to the wedding and met the night manager Stephen who put us all at ease about how everything would run on the big day. As for the wedding, the food was amazing and we received a huge amount of positive feedback about the meal and the drinks reception; all of the steaks were cooked to perfection, the glasses were never empty! The service was just out of this world! The one thing we loved about on the day was we didn’t have to worry about anything as Rachel, Jillian and Stephen had everything under control and they went above and beyond our expectations. I would highly recommend The Great Southern Hotel for your special day as the venue itself with its' beautiful gardens are perfect for your wedding photos. This is another huge advantage as we were able to get photos inside and outside the venue. There is a reason the Great Southern has such a good reputation for weddings; they are extremely good at what they do. Overall I can only describe our special day as magical. Without a doubt, we had an absolutely amazing day and there's nothing we could fault, even weeks later looking back. I would no hesitation recommending the Great Southern for a wedding! We are still in awe of how well the Great Southern team arranged our wedding day celebrations! It was 5 stars!! Everyone was a pleasure to work with and we didn't have a worry in the world! The food was amazing and especially our buffet served on day 2 was absolutely delicious. All of our guests praised the hotel and the team! If we could do it all over again we would and specially with the team that was there on our special day Jillian, Jadwiga & Stephen.

Also Denise and Rachel who can rest assured to any future brides can definately put you at your ease.

A Christmas Wedding with a 5 Star Experience!

My husband and I got married on the 28th of December 2019 in The Great Southern Hotel. We have nothing but good memories of the day. From the time we booked the venue all the way up until the morning after our wedding day, the standard of care, courtesy and professionalism was second to none. The first time we met Denise our wedding co-ordinator she was so welcoming and easy to deal with, nothing was ever a problem and anything we needed to know Denise and Rachel were always on the other side of the phone or email.

As with every wedding, the food is extremely important and we received a huge amount of positive feedback about the meal and the drinks reception. The one thing we loved about on the day was we didn’t have to worry about anything as Denise, Jadwiga (The Food and Beverage Manager) and Stephen (The Night Manager) had everything under control and they went above and beyond our expectations.

I would highly recommend The Great Southern Hotel for your special day as the venue itself is situated conveniently in the heart of Killarney. A historic building with beautiful gardens perfect for your wedding photos. This is another huge advantage as we were able to get photos inside and outside the venue.

We felt our Christmas wedding in The Great Southern Hotel was made extra special due to the luxurious Christmas décor. Overall I can only describe our special day as magical. Without doubt we had the best day of our lives. We will be forever grateful to the wedding team of the Great Southern Hotel.

Jake and myself wouldlike to thank all the staff at the Great Southern for making our wedding sospecial. From the moment we met Rachel to the day itself, we couldn’t haveasked for more. We had both our ceremony & reception at the hotel ona very wet December 13th 2019. The setting couldn’t have been moreperfect, the luxurious surroundings of the hotel coupled with the Christmasdecorations and roaring fires was just beautiful. We had 300 peopleattend our wedding and to see just how smoothly everything went is a testamentto the wonderful staff. We really couldn’t have imagined just howfantastic everything would be, from the service to the incredible food, wereceived so many compliments from our family and friends…. People are stilltelling us what a fantastic day they had. Rachel, Jadwiga, Jillian andStephen were absolutely incredible on the day as well as each and every staffmember that was there. I have no words that could adequately describe how amazing our experience was and I want to thank all of the staff, particularly Rachel for making it the easiest and most fun experience we have ever had. Everyone wants their wedding to be perfect and ours was! From the moment we met Rachel, no question or idea was too much. Every time we travelled down, to look at the hotel, meet Rachel have our tasting and all the emails, calls and visits in between we were treated like it was our hotel and we were the most special guests there - that isn't easy to achieve! Our tasting was the most incredible experience and I wanted to do that over and over with the excitement that it gave us for the build up to our wedding day! When we visited the hotel, if we brought people with us or people said that they were attending our wedding they were always to feel extra special too, my dad loved that!! As for the rooms, they are indescribably beautiful (especially the bridal suite when we got there on our day) All of the little touches along the journey, which are too many to list meant we knew it was going to be amazing on the day. And to the day itself... words could not express how the hotel went above and beyond to make it seamless and special. Rachel met us when we returned as husband and wife and I was so happy to see her, not only because she had champagne but it was like she was part of the family. The red carpet, the champagne, the decorations, the greeting from all the staff who are all amazing to the exquisite room, our beautiful cake display in front of the amazing floral wall, our table plan tree, the mulled wine, the piano player, the roaring fire and all before we even sat down to dinner! The meal, ran by Jadwiga and Rachel was flawless with all of the staff taking such good care of our guests - who all said it was the best meal they ever had, bar none, including the vegan option which was out of this world too. high praise from our vegan guest. The wine was flowing and the decor was out of this world. The band had set up with out us knowing as the stage is behind curtains so they appeared as if by magic and we danced the night away with Stephen making sure we had everything we needed all night. Having our wedding at The Great Southern Hotel is something I will never forget, it is now a home away from home, a life long connection and that is down to the staff and the service, all the little personal touches that make you feel like the most important guests they have ever had which means everything on the best day of your life. From the first day we walked into the hotel, we fell in love! All the staff were amazing! Before our wedding we attended a friends wedding at the hotel, all the staff knew our names or introduced themselves, It was a lovely touch. On the lead up to the wedding, every single thing was taken care of. It made the lead up to the wedding so much more enjoyable and relaxing! On the day, there was not one thing I would change, Denise and Stephen did everything and we had the best day of our lives! We stayed 3 days for our wedding and we were so sad leaving, we cannot wait to come back! Special mention to Stephen, who my husband wanted to run away with. My husband and I celebrated our wedding at the Great Southern Hotel, Killarney on 4th October 2019. From the moment we walked into the hotel, we knew it was where we wanted to celebrate our wedding day. From the fabulous lobby to the gorgeous gardens and spacious function room, we knew instantly that this was the place. We could not speak highly enough of Denise and Rachel, from our first meeting right through to the big day itself, they were amazing. Any request we had was attended to expeditiously and with a smile. Having gone through losing two parents and dealing with a breast cancer diagnosis in the 18 months before the wedding, this was invaluable to us as we knew we were in good hands and had nothing to worry about in the run up to the day.

On the day itself, again Denise deserves special mention. Everything ran smoothly and it was brilliant to know that there was somebody there looking after it all. Also deserving of mention is Stephen, the night duty manager, who I discovered is the go to man if Red wine gets spilled on your wedding dress! (think Vidal Sassoon with white wine, soda water and a hairdryer!) He really looked after us during our stay at the hotel, as did Kieran, Brian and the concierge Sean. During dinner service, Victoria was brilliant and the whole meal was amazing. The food was delicious and plentiful, as was the wine and people are still telling us what a great day they had.

Overall, the entire experience was outstanding, from our first visit to the weekend of the wedding. We can wholeheartedly recommend the Great Southern Hotel, Killarney for any event. The attention to detail and personal service we received made us feel so special and we look forward to visiting the hotel for many years to come as Mr. And Mrs. Tuite.

We just want to say a massive thank you to acknowledge all the hard work Rachel and the entire staff of the Great Southern did in making our wedding day so amazing! Communication from our initial meeting was excellent, Rachel was so practical with her advice and any queries we had were dealt with promptly with no fuss. The day was absolutely flawless and so many people said it was the best wedding meal they ever had. The venue was stunning and we were lucky enough to be able to have some of our reception outdoors as the weather was so good, even in late September! Both the reception and room were beautifully laid out and along with the cake table and floral backdrop there were endless photo opportunities. The food was sensational with impeccable service at every table and I don't think anyone's glass went empty. Stephen was exceptional at keeping everything running on schedule and nothing was too much to ask - even getting my spare shoes from the bridal suite! The bridal suite itself was beautiful with lovely views over Killarney town - we are already looking forward to going back on our first anniversary next year! We cannot explain or put into words how amazing and fabulous the Great Southern was for our wedding reception location on the 6th of Sept 2019. From start to finish the attention to detail all your staff put into making our wedding day so special for not just us but everyone who attended. Rachel was an absolute dream to work with and made everything so easy and no problem to sort whatever the request, I said on numerous Occassions that this wedding Planning was very easy but this was all thanks to Rachel with all her tips and recommendations. The flowers we used for the wedding were from the same florist as the Great Southern, Enchanted Flowers. What a fabulous lady who also went above and beyond her job description and I knew if she supplied the flowers for the Great Southern that they would be of a high quality and professionalism would be paramount. Both Graham and I cannot thank you enough for the attention and warm reception our little Leo got, he really was the center of attention and nearly stole the show, the kindness shown to him really meant so much especially with him getting his own special dinner. In regards to my parents Mick & Julien O’Connell, we so appreciated how kind and understanding all the staff were over the few days we all stayed there, with dads health not the best, the comfort of the beautiful hotel and staff made it somewhat easier. We just got the wedding video back and the hotel looks amazing which we knew it would and hence why we choose it for our wedding reception and have highly recommended it since. Please thank all your staff and obviously yourself for giving us, our family and friends such fond and magical memories of our wedding at the Great Southern, we definitely plan a night down there again soon. Overall we were delighted we went with the Great Southern. We couldn't recommend highly enough the attention to detail and attentiveness of all the staff. All our guests were raving about the venue from the drinks reception to the good food. It was the little things that really made the experience, our tasting was lovely with Judwiga giving us tips and recommendations and the fact she was looking after the wedding on the day was a really nice touch. Rachel taking my veil on the day and guiding us through the timing on the day was flawless. Around the days of the wedding, everyone was felt to feel special and were really looked after from those staying in the houses to guests staying the night. We would like to take this opportunity to thank each and every one of the team at The Great Southern for all they did in helping make our wedding day the perfect day for us. Our guests have told us repeatedly since the wedding, “It was the best wedding ever!” I’m sure this is a sentiment shared with many couples who chose to have their wedding with you but bearing in mind the number of guests from various places, and special requirements needed by some, each guest we have spoken with has highlighted the personal, professional and attentive nature of the staff they came into contact with on 8th August. And that’s before they start complimenting Rory’s menu! Many of our guests hadn’t visited Killarney before. Many were blown away at staff being able to take meal choices for such a large number. One of those who commented on this works as an events manager for an international hotel chain and was mesmerised that such a thing could be carried out with such proficiency. So many guests commented on the quality of the food, the extras available and the venue itself. Months later, people are still referring to it as “The best wedding ever!” From our personal perspective, we were wowed by the venue when we first toured it with Rachel. From the moment we confirmed the wedding reception there was efficient and prompt responses to any email contact, which was important to us as we are based in the UK. The tasting menu event was the moment that the wedding became a reality. The personal touches on this evening by Jadwiga were first class. She helped to create a personalised menu which was delicious - we had lots of difficult decisions to make only because everything was so good! We took the opportunity to have a gathering the night before the wedding. The room was dressed beautifully. Staff were friendly, accommodating and attentive to the additional needs of our guests. The whole team were brilliant and the food kept on coming which was much appreciated by those who had travelled from near and far! On the wedding day itself, Denise was calm, reassuring and attentive to all our needs and dealt with last minute requests on the wedding morning incredibly smoothly. Both Denise and Jadwiga looked after us all day. Denise was still with us for the meal; indicating to us when the next course was arriving. A favourite memory from the meal was when the chefs came to our table with the main courses. In a perfectly choreographed movement, they each uncovered our selected dish. It felt like a moment out of Downton Abbey! We’re hoping the photographer might have caught this moment! In the evening, Stephen took great care of us until the last very last guest turned in for the night. It was our perfect day. Just writing about our wedding brings smiles to our faces! If we could repeat the whole thing again we would do it all exactly the same-it was perfect. We would highly recommend The Great Southern as a phenomenal wedding venue. The staff, location, food and accommodation are first class. We are already looking forward to our next visit.

The venue itself is luxurious and stunning and it it was a perfect location for a very wet day in August, with its beautiful gardens and impressive glass corridor. It so very much appreciated. On meeting Denise back in August 2017, we knew the Great Southern was the hotel for us. There is such a lovely welcoming and relaxing atmosphere at the hotel. Ever since that first meeting with the hotel everything was extremely straight forward. Coming up to the wedding Rachel and all the staff were so helpful. We had a beautiful evening at our menu tasting and it was a great taste of what was to come on our wedding day. Our wedding day at the Great Southern Hotel couldn't have been any better. From the warm welcoming reception by the staff at arrival, the fabulous drinks reception, guests had the option of sitting inside or outside in the beautiful gardens, the outstanding meal and the impeccable service for everybody all throughout the day and well into the night. The service during the meal was simply outstanding given the amazing quality of all the dishes served and the large crowd at our wedding. All our guests were commenting on the superb service on the day. For anyone thinking of booking The Great Southern Hotel for your wedding, we couldn't recommend it enough. Ronan and I got married in the Great Southern on 19th July 2019 and the day was so much more than we could have hoped for. The entire team were incredible, especially Rachel who was truly amazing from the first time we met her the year before and Denise who responded to a number of our queries during the year. Living in Dubai and planning a wedding at home should have been difficult but the hotel looked after every single detail with such professionalism, from fitting us in for our menu tasting Christmas week to responding to emails within a matter of hours every single time, they made the whole process so easy and enjoyable for us. The wedding weekend itself was fantastic, all of our guests have commented on everything from how well they were treated, the stunning venue, the exceptional food and the impeccable service. We could have not been looked after anymore, nothing was too much trouble and the bridal suite was absolutely perfect. Ronan and I really wanted the drinks reception to provide multiple options for guests and reflect our "Dubai Brunches". After sharing this idea with Rachel she was so enthusiastic and the final result was absolutely stunning with the prosecco bike, cocktail area, gin station, beer buckets, whiskey and bailey stands, sweet cart and the cheeseboard table all looking so unique and beautiful. We were truly blown over when we walked into the reception room, the set up, the detail, the lighting it was all just out of this world. On the day itself Rachel, Stephen, Jadwiga and Rory were amazing and kept the day running so smoothly (and on time:)) and managed all of our suppliers for us so we had nothing to worry about. We would definitely recommend the Great Southern to any couple looking for a stunning venue, with exceptional food, an amazing team and the little touches that truly make your wedding, you will not be disappointed.

We just wanted to express our heartfelt thanks and appreciation again for everything on our wedding day -July 12th. It was an absolute pleasure having our wedding in the Great Southern and it was a fantastic and unforgettable day from start to finish. 

From day one when we met Denise and Rachel, all the way through to the wedding day and after was an absolute breeze. The professionalism and attention to detail was second to none and we honestly have not hesitated to recommend the Great Southern, time and time again over the past year. 

We knew we had chosen an exceptional venue but each and every one of your team absolutely exceeded any expectations we might have had. From arrival to check-out and everything in between. 

The service and food on the day was amazing. Our guests and suppliers were so complimentary of every part of the day especially the food which was very important to us, so a big thank you to all of the team.

I wanted to take the time on behalf of myself and Colin to say how grateful we are for everything Rachel & Denise did for us in the lead up and on the day of our wedding. When we got engaged we knew we wanted to have our reception in Killarney, it was a special place to us and one that we loved spending time in. I remember talking to Rachel on the phone as she invited us to come down and view the hotel and being apprehensive because I knew I would fall in love with The Great Southern. Fast forward to the day we viewed the hotel and met Rachel for the first time, Rachel could not have been friendlier or more professional on the day. It was our first time in the hotel so we were unsure what to expect. As we walked through the hotel down towards the function area I think it was safe to say we were both nervous. We approached the walkway and that was it, I was in love!! To me the walkway felt like a fairytale, all the flowers, the lights and the glass windows.........I was sold. That was just the beginning, Rachel proceeded to show us the outdoor area and where the drinks reception would be held and the reception room. The relationship with Rachel was just beginning, over the next year she took my phone calls, answered my emails and calmed me during moments oF irrational stress on my part. No request was too big or awkward for the staff of The Great Southern and often when we were in Killarney we would pop in. Our next big night was our meal tasting and it was a beautiful night for us as a couple. The food was exquisite and the staff so lovely. They asked our opinions and explained flavours to us and we had an amazing night. The fortnight before the wedding could have been very stressful however Rachel and Denise made it all so easy for me, their check list made sure I had forgotten nothing and they had thought of everything down to the tiniest details. The week of the wedding we drove down with bits and pieces for our special day and without a lot of detail from us Rachel and Denise assured us they would sort all of this put for us. Our wedding day truly was a magical day from start to finish. Denise was outstanding on the day as were all the staff working who were so pleasant and polite and lovely to our guests. Denise kept in contact with our photographer so as to know when to expect us and when we arrived she greeted us at the door. Walking down to our drinks reception was a feeling like no other, everyone was laughing and chatting and enjoying themselves. Drinks were flowing, food was being served and we were delighted. The area was decorated beautifully with all of our small details that we simply left with Denise, she did an exceptional job decorating the rooms. Dinner was magnificent from the impeccable service by the staff to the out of this world food. To top all of this off the staff later came out with extra beef and fish for our guests, this went down so well people still mention this to us. Everyone commented on the beautiful food as some of the best they had ever had. There was a lovely young lady looking after myself and Colin at the top table and unfortunately I cannot remember her name but she was so lovely to me, I had no appetite and couldn't eat but she assured me if at any point in the night I wanted food to find her and she would sort it for me......I really appreciated the thought and care she gave me on the night. The day and night ran so seamless that I couldn't believe how perfect everything had gone, little did I know that Denise had a few issues with a spur on the moment few guests that showed up on the day and were not on the table plan. It is a testament to Denise and the rest of the staff at how professional they are that they sorted all of this and I never even knew it was going on. I couldn't recommend the hotel and the staff of The Great Southern enough, they were so caring and professional from start to finish. We enjoyed every aspect of our day and also the planning process and this was in great part down to Rachel who was always available to us when we needed her. We would just like to say a huge thank you to Rachel and Denise for all their hard work and time they put into making our day so special. Another huge thank you has to go to all the staff working the day of our wedding our guests were so well looked after and everyone had the best time including myself and Colin. We look forward to returning to see you all for our 1st Anniversary.

I don’t even know how I could begin to express my most heartfelt thank you to the team at Great Southern Killarney. Rachel became the wedding fairy God mother for me, no matter what it was that I wanted or requested she was back to me that day and nothing was ever a problem, there was literally nothing that she didn’t do or agree to do for me. It was like no request was that one too many. She is such a lovely person to work with, so warm, friendly and has such a good way with people. She really did make my wedding day exceed my wildest dreams and expectations, there is absolutely nothing I would change or do differently. I think every bride needs to have a Rachel in their life and I used to love my pre-wedding visits to the hotel before the Big Day. Everything ran so seamlessly and I just couldn’t get over how amazing it all was, the function room was just fabulous, so many of my guests commented on two things about the hotel, they said it was the best drinks reception they had ever been to and so many people were blown away by the food, service and just general hospitality. The staff in the Great Southern are truly amazing, so friendly and lovely and it is so clear that it is a lovely place to work and you are all part of a great team. I really can’t wait to come back and stay in the hotel in the coming years, it will be such a special place for my husband and I and we are really looking forward to many more celebrations and memories in your fabulous hotel. So a huge Thank You to everyone for looking after us so well and making sure that our big day really was the best day of our lives.
