Here at the Great Southern it is extremely important to us that our Junior Guests enjoy a break full of fun and fond memories and with so much to do we have decided to put together a list of our Top 10 things to do in Killarney for Families.

1. Visit Muckross House & Gardens or step back in time with a visit to Traditional Farms.

2. Take a Ride in a Traditional Jaunting Car to Ross Castle to feed the Ducks. While enjoying a stroll around Ross Island children can enjoy Ciar’s Quest, digital treasure hunt using Augmented reality with a storyline around Ross Island and its wildlife. Click here for more information.

3. Cycle or Walk through Killarney National Park. Our hotel bikes are available from our Concierge team and why not order a picnic to bring with you on your trip through the park!

4. Enjoy an afternoon at Buddies Play Centre in Killarney or feed the animals with an afternoon at Kennedys Pet Farm.

5. Take a stroll around charming Killarney Town Centre just a 5 minute walk from Great Southern and stop for ice cream at Murphys Ice Cream or in winter the best hot chocolate can be found at Lir Cafe. For souvenirs, there is an abundance of local shops just perfect for choosing a pocket money treasure!

6. See the sights at Torc Waterfall followed by a visit to the Killarney Playground located across from Killarney Cathedral.

7. A trip to the Gap of Dunloe is always a must.

8. Take a trip around the Lakes of Killarney with Killarney Lake Tours.
