Here at The Malton we are so looking forward to an action packed summer, with so much to do in Kerry we have compiled our favourite Top 10 things to do and with the lovely long evenings ahead you might even manage to really pack your day and do two of our favourite things!
- Take a day trip to the iconic Gap of Dunloe. You can take a jaunting cart or walk through the Gap, a valley, (that was once glaciated), to Lord Brandon’s Cottage, followed by a boat trip on the Lakes of Killarney.
- Visit Ross Castle & take a boat trip on the Lakes of Killarney & admire the stunning scenery.
- Step back in time & visit the historic Muckross House & Gardens and Traditional Farm dating back to mid-19th century.
- Visit the Dingle Peninsula, including the Blasket Islands & Slea Head drive. Stop off in Dingle Town, where you can take a boat trip to see Fungi the famous Dolphin, or see the Penguins at Dingle Oceanworld.
- Take in the beautiful view of Torc Waterfall & climb the steps to the top.
- Drive the famous Ring of Kerry and see some of the most picturesque towns and villages in Ireland including Kenmare, Sneem and Cahersiveen. Pay a visit to The Strawberry Field Pancake cottage on the way back to Killarney – a real treat for all the family.
- Visit the UNESCO World Heritage Site, Skellig Michael. Known throughout the world as the site of a well preserved monastic outpost of the Early Christian period. It was also the location for filming for the most recent Star Wars movie.
- Take a jaunt with horse & carriage ride around the Killarney National Park, 26,000 acres so lots to explore!
- Explore Kerry’s Wild Atlantic Way, you will discover beautiful beaches, villages, craft shops and so much more, just watch out for the signs.
- Ramble around Killarney town with its many boutiques, cafés, coffee houses and shops.
