Here at Great Southern Killarney we are very proud of being located in such a beautiful part of the country and home to the Killarney National Park. We are conscious of our impact on this area of such wonderful natural beauty and are actively implementing measures to ensure we leave as little impact as possible on our locality. As part of our contribution to reducing our carbon footprint we have joined forces with the newly established Killarney Coffee Cup Project. With over 40 hotels and coffee shops within Killarney members including our sister property Killarney Royal, the aim of this project was to combat the issue of single-use coffee cup waste within the local environment. What does this mean for our guests? There are a number of options available to our guests as part of this project. We are delighted to share these below in an effort to make the transition as seemless as possible for our guests.
- Bring a reusable coffee cup: We encourage our guests to bring their own reusable coffee cup from home. Our staff are more than happy to fill your cup with your preferred drink.
- Pay a €2 deposit for a 2GoCup: We understand that bringing a reusable cup might not always be possible, especially for guests travelling from outside the country. In this case, we offer the option of a 2GoCup for a refundable deposit of €2. When finished, simply return the cup to any participating venue, including Great Southern or Killarney Royal, and get the €2 deposit back or opt to keep the cup to use again in the future.
- Dine in and relax: Of course we will still be serving Tea & Coffee in our dining outlets in our china cups.
